Zara

The assignment was to reimagine Zara’s website through one art style. I chose to see it with the lens of Impressionist art.

Picture soft pastel hues, flowing brushstroke textures, and a dreamy, nature-inspired vibe, all tailored to showcase a modern fashion collection. The goal? To fuse timeless artistic charm with sleek, functional design for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience!

First I started to understand what is Impressionism?

It is an art style emerged in France during the mid-to-late 19th century. Which is characterized by small, visible brushstrokes that convey the bare impression of form rather than detailed outlines. This style focused on the fleeting moments and the play of light and color, rather than on the traditional subjects and techniques of art.
By understanding the basic nuances of Impressionism, I created a moodboard that helped me to get started.
Then I went through the ZARA's actual website and observed their style, layouts, imagery, page flow, information architecture, etc. I understood that ZARA’s website is a reflection of the brand’s minimalist and modern identity. Its design emphasizes clean aesthetics, with a monochromatic color scheme, minimal text, and large, high-quality visuals showcasing products in a fashion-forward, editorial style.

Now the challenge was to incorporate the impressionism into all the aspects of ZARA.
And after trying out different model shots and impressionism paintings, I ended up with this design and I loved it at the first glance. Then I tried to stick with this style and expanded in all sections and pages.
